Morning, everyone — rough one yesterday. Four closes in red, three of them stops on the range shorts, and a longer-hold buy that simply ran out of time.

The day opened with NEAR still holding a long from five days back, a buy into market strength. I let it ride the full five days because that's what the rule says, but strength turned to sideways and then sideways turned to loss. Down −1.16% on the close. Not a big number, but it's the first real tax paid on a position that never really worked — the market jumped when I bought it, then forgot it existed.

The three stops came in close together, all on the same trade design — the range short. ALGO fired ten days ago and spent the whole time bleeding sideways before finally breaking the stop at −8.33%. PEPE lasted 60 hours and hit the same −8.23% stop. NEAR's fresh short (26 hours old) blew out at −8.11%. If you've ever watched a short you thought was dead stay dead, you know that feeling — it keeps not filling the target, the stop just sits there getting closer, and then one five-minute candle does it.

What's interesting is none of this felt like bad execution. These are the exits the backtest built: win about 68% of the range shorts on the unseen years, average a touch under +1% per win, but when they miss they miss the full stop. Ten wins at +1% pays for four losses at −8%. That's the arithmetic. Yesterday just happened to be a day where the arithmetic showed its face.

The book opened seven new positions over the last 24 hours and kept the overnight stack running hot. The repeats are still rolling: NEAR fired twice more (now running both a short and a long on the same coin — the system fired them independently a few hours apart, and both are still alive). MANA caught a second buy signal after a sharp dip with Bitcoin up only +1.92% between entries, which is the favorable case — the backtest liked those. JUP fired again after three days away; PEPE's also got two now.

The stacks are real. You've got LINK with two active shorts. PENDLE with two. PEPE with two. LDO with two. SUI with one long and one short running at the same time — different signals, independent clocks, and neither one knows the other exists. That's not a mistake; that's the rulebook being mechanical. When independent signals land on the same coin, you take both. In the backtest, those pile-ups actually worked slightly better than fresh trades, because if two separate rules are screaming the same setup, you're usually right.

### the market from here

Bitcoin holding just below **$86,000**, up only −0.66% on the day but +2.84% for the month. The price is eight points above the weekly open, two points below last month's high, and a respectful distance from the 50-day average near $79,000 — that's +8.7% of upside left before you're back to trend. The 200-day sits near $71,500, another +20% lower.

Daily RSI came in at 65.5 — stretched but not yet overbought; that's the tape saying "we've run, but we're not screaming." The move is orderly. Volume yesterday was 36% of the 20-day average, which means the jump was built on thin conviction. A rally that quiet can turn on a dime.

Ethereum mirrors the pattern: −0.5% on the day, +1.05% for the month, and RSI at 61.9\. The 50-day sits near $2,501 (you're +8.5% above it), the 200-day near $2,118 (you're +28% above it). That's more room to run, but also more gravity below if sentiment flips.

The tape is mixed. Bitcoin saw a balanced flow yesterday (aggression nearly flat across the entire session), but Ethereum came in with +7.6% net buyer aggression — the most buyer-heavy day in ten — and that's worth watching. AVAX sold the hardest (sellers showed up with −5.5% net aggression, the worst of the week), which tells you not every coin rode the same momentum.

Futures positioning shows shorts paying longs on both Bitcoin and Ethereum — the crowd is leaning short into a bounce. That's a squeeze setup if Bitcoin decides to push: new shorts sitting in an uptrend are the first ones to get hurt. Open interest on Bitcoin ticked up +2.8% week-on-week, which means fresh money is pouring into the short side exactly when price is rallying. Classic crowding.

If I had to guess the next move, I'd say this looks more like consolidation than a fresh impulsive leg — the tape is too thin, the RSI too comfortable, the funding too one-sided. A squeeze would hurt, but the setup for a real break lower is there too, with all those moving averages still way underneath and volume drying up.

### one thing worth keeping

The range short gave up four losses yesterday because it's built to wait for targets it never hits. But the backtest showed that those short-term pain trades are the cost of catching the 68% that work — and you can't optimize away the 32% that don't without breaking the 68%. Sometimes the market just runs into your stop. That's not bad luck; that's the design working as designed.

#### all-time

| trades closed | win rate | avg trade | cumulative | tracking since |
| ------------- | -------- | --------- | ---------- | -------------- |
| 830 | 68.9% | +0.82% | +679.9% | June 08, 2026 |

830 trades closed. The week opened red with those four stops; the win rate ticked down to 68.9%, and the cumulative dropped to +679.9%. The last seven days averaged −0.29% across 109 closes, which means this was a heavy-stop week. Most of those losses came from the same trade design hitting the same stop on different coins — when the market rallies into your short, it rallies into all of them at once.

### see you tomorrow

INJ is now creeping toward day seven with that +3% target still uncashed, and the fresh stack of range shorts (most opened in the last 48 hours) is starting to age. By midweek, half of them will be in the danger zone where time decay picks up. That's when the real sorting happens.
