Wednesday morning — and it's been a productive day for getting things off the books. Twenty-one closes in 24 hours is heavy, and the weight split uneven: most of the shorts hit their targets right on schedule, but the two longer-dated longs — PEPE and INJ — both timed out at the five-day line with nothing to show.

You know the shape of this already if you've watched a momentum strategy work through a flat market: ten wins near +3% against two losses near −9%, and you're still down on the day. That's not a bug in the system. That's the math of the exit design. The range shorts average tiny, tight targets because they're built to catch sideways chop. The longer buys swing for +10% and accept −20% on the way. One works most of the time. The other works rarely.

### the closes that mattered

The shorts cleaned up: DOT fired three separate times — once at +3.31%, once at +3.07%, once at +3.01% — each one timed out when the range finally pushed. PENDLE, ADA, HBAR, APT, BCH all took their +3% and walked. WLD flipped from a long loss into a short win at +3.15% within three hours. That's the rules working on the same coin in different modes, which happens when price whips hard enough.

The two that cost us both came down to the five-day time limit. PEPE carried a −11.09% loss after 120 hours of chasing +10%. It had a sister trade that closed at −2.25% on the same clock. Neither one got close to the target. They rode the full duration and exited at expiration, which is exactly what that design says will happen most of the time — these are lottery tickets with built-in stoploss, not reliable money-makers. INJ long carried −8.51% across 168 hours. Another bet on momentum in a market that wouldn't deliver it.

LINK long lasted 72 hours and left −6.37% on the table. WLD long (autonomous channel) made it 72 hours as well, −2.20%. The bias is clear: anything that chases up in a choppy market gets a haircut on the way down.

### the repeats and stacks

The open board now bristles with repeats. ARB fired twice — 32 hours apart, Bitcoin only up +0.1% between them, the favorable case — and it's now short at +3% / −8% with 9.6 days left to run. MANA re-fired 24 hours after its last close, Bitcoin down −2.09% in between; that second short is 1.1 days old and chasing +3%. ALGO got two shots 40 hours apart with Bitcoin down −1.21%; the second is 1.3 days old. AAVE stacked to three open shorts across manual signals — the newest one just fired this morning after the second one closed, Bitcoin barely moved, so we're in the favorable case again. PENDLE now carries two: one from yesterday chasing +6% against a wider −15% stop (the sharper downtrend setup), one newer short aiming +3%.

WLD is the real story. Two longs closed in the last 24h and fired again. One long timed out at −6.51%, then a new one opened and already sits at 2.6 days with −2.2% showing. That's the system saying: "this coin has been grinding lower for two weeks, let's buy the bounce." The backtests on repeat-fires like this — same signal within three days, no pump between — actually came out slightly ahead of fresh signals. But you can feel the risk: WLD has now cost us money three times running.

INJ is the wildcard. That autonomous long stopped out at −8.51% yesterday at the five-day line. But manual INJ just fired a new short 23 hours later, and Bitcoin moved **+1.99% between the old exit and the new entry** — that's outside the favorable case. In the backtests, when Bitcoin had jumped more than +2% between two fires, the second short actually lost money. This one opened anyway. It's 0.2 days old.

### the market from here

Bitcoin closed at 78,457.7, up 1.46% on the day but still 4.2% below the 50-day average and 6.8% below the 200\. The picture is a coin that bounced overnight but hasn't turned anything around yet. Daily RSI sits at 43.5 — not stretched, not compressed, just tired. It's neither oversold nor overbought, which means if this chop continues, it could drift either way without warning.

The key level stack tells the real story. Below us: 76,180 is a brutal confluence — last month's low, the 30-day low, the week's low, yesterday's low, all crammed into 19 basis points. That's where the pain is. Above us: 79,000 is a round number just 700 away. Then 81,889 where the 50-day average sits with the week's high. The 200-day at 73,157 is below and lonely. Ethereum mirrors the picture: 2,324 with the 50-day at 2,506 ahead and the 200-day at 2,156 behind.

Order flow yesterday was mixed: Bitcoin sellers pressed all day (aggression −1.8%, within norm), but Ethereum buyers dominated (+14.5%, the most bullish day of the prior ten). The book's smaller coins leaned buyer — ALGO and ARB both posted their most bullish days in a week. That doesn't mean the move sticks, but it means institutions were hitting bids yesterday afternoon.

Futures are short-biased on both coins. Bitcoin shorts are paying longs to hold, and open interest dropped 0.3% on the day while it's up 4.1% over the week — money coming out of the game. Ethereum shorts are also paying, interest up 1.7% in 24 hours. Neither coin has room to rip without liquidating someone.

If I had to guess the shape of this: it's more chop than a turn. The tape is fighting between the 76 level and 79, bouncing on tired momentum. The shorts should keep working as long as price stays in the range. The longs will keep losing until the bounce actually sticks.

### one thing worth keeping

Watch what happened to WLD: lost three times running on the long side, and the rules fired a fourth. That's not stubbornness — that's the backtest telling you the setup works on average, even when you're looking at a cold streak. The hardest part of running any mechanical system is not swapping the rules when you're tired of losing. The data said "buy this bounce again" so it did. Most trades will cost you. Most winning systems win by compounding the rare times they're right.

The board has thinned. ICP is 5.3 days into its range short, getting close to the ten-day expiration. PENDLE carries the two-position stack with one chasing the wider +6% target on the downtrend short and one regular +3% short that just re-fired after its sister closed. WLD just opened its repeat long at 2.6 days, betting the grinding coin will finally bounce; it has no stop and gives up after three days if it doesn't work.

### see you tomorrow

The autonomous INJ long that was counting down is now gone. But manual INJ just fired a new signal — a short — within 24 hours and Bitcoin spiked +1.99% between the two, which puts this one in the risky territory. ICP has four days left before it times out on the range short. Most of the repeats are young and aiming +3%.
