rough monday — two stops, five wins, the book still climbing
Monday morning, everyone — a rough one early, then the book clawed back.
We opened with two painful stops: ICP shorted 62 hours ago hit its −8% stop −8.47%, and LDO did the same an hour later at −8.08%. Both were range shorts that just picked the wrong direction. Then LDO fired a second short signal, also hit the −8% stop almost immediately at −8.08% again — same trade, same result in 25 hours. That's the shape of a breakout that didn't care about our thesis: when the range target is +3% and the stop is −8%, you win most of the time, but when you lose, you lose harder than you win. The math still works across hundreds of trades; it just stings on the days it doesn't.
Three other positions resolved differently. FIL's long from a dip that I'd flagged Friday banked +6.14% in 42 hours — hit the +5% target and closed. The second FIL long, younger and more aggressive, nailed +3.25% in under 16 hours. WLD's hardest-hit buy from the stumble did +4.42% in just over 10 hours, right at the +4% target. Then WLD fired again — same signal — and this time banked +7.53% in 12 hours, the highest close of the day.
ICP also reopened as a long in the last batch of closures — a +5% target in 3.4 hours, dead simple, closed at +5.35%. ATOM's dip buy, older and simmering since Friday, finally closed at +5.22% after 29 hours.
So: two hard losses, five solid wins, one day's work totaling roughly +0.96% net on nine closes. Not a clean day, but the book is climbing. The cumulative is now at +829.7% — picked up about 7 points overnight.
the market from here
Bitcoin is almost flat on the day at −0.39%, sitting at 83,351 — just barely below yesterday's open and the weekly open at 83,808. That level is load-bearing: it's the monthly open, the weekly open, today's open, a round number, and yesterday's high all stacked in one place. Below it, sellers have owned every timeframe. Above it, we're in a fight.
The 50-day average sits at 80,940; bitcoin is 3% above it. The 200-day is 71,980 — bitcoin is 15.8% above that, so there's real uptrend structure underneath. But the 30-day high at 87,289 is 4.7% overhead, and bitcoin has spent the last week churning lower, down 2.8%. Daily RSI sits at 52.9 — right in the middle, not stretched either way.
Ethereum mirrored the move: up 0.66% on the day, hovering just below its 50-day at 2,556. The 200-day sits at 2,134 — ethereum is 19.5% above it. But the month is down 5% from the 30-day high at 2,807, and the tape has been rangebound for days. RSI is 46.3, neutral.
Order flow yesterday told a story: bitcoin saw its most buyer-aggressive day in the prior 10 — net aggression at +12.6% of volume, the tightest end of that range. Ethereum came in at +10.4%, well within recent norms. But the altcoins sent mixed signals. AVAX buyers were the most aggressive it's seen in a week at +5.8%; ADA sellers dominated, hitting the most seller-heavy reading of the stretch at −3.3%; DOGE also skewed seller at −4.8%. AAVE and BCH traded balanced.
Futures positioning shows open interest down 0.2% on bitcoin and 1.8% on ethereum, with both funding leaning short — shorts are paying longs, so the leveraged crowd is crowded on the bearish side. That's setup-dependent: shorts pay when the market is falling, and we have been. Squeeze risk exists if bitcoin can hold 83,808 and build from there, but today's volume was weak — yesterday's volume was 35% of the 20-day average on bitcoin, 63% on ethereum. That's not conviction.
The tape reads like a range resting near its highs, with real structure underneath but no fresh fuel. If the shorts here are going to win, 83,808 has to stay a ceiling, and the coins have to stay in their boxes.
one thing worth keeping
Two range shorts stopped at −8% today, back-to-back. That's not a failure of the idea — it's the cost of the math. You trade where you have an edge, and edges have losers in them. The real question is whether the coin is breaking out genuinely or just spiking through friction. Both ICP and LDO broke above their range entries hard enough to hit the stop. Neither fired a second signal immediately, which means by tomorrow's math they may be done. That tells you something: sometimes the stop is not a defeat, it's early warning.

Nineteen shorts stacked across SHIB (three), AAVE (three), AVAX (two), MANA (two), and scattered singles — all repeats, all with bitcoin moves between fires under +1.5%, which puts them in the favorable backtest case. AVAX and the older SHIB and AAVE are 3-plus days in; the younger SHIB repeats and all the MANA and AAVE re-entries are fresh enough that they've got room to run if the range holds. Two NEAR longs (one manual, one autonomous, firing at almost the same moment) are after strength; both have five days to try for the +10% target. The book is short-heavy and betting on chop.
all-time
| trades closed | win rate | avg trade | cumulative | tracking since |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 970 | 69.7% | +0.86% | +829.7% | June 08, 2026 |
Last seven days: 140 closed, 104 wins, averaging +1.07% per trade — best average in a week. The all-time tally is now 970 trades at 69.7% win rate, +829.7% cumulative since June 8. The two stops today cost about 16 percentage points; the five wins paid for them and added a point.
See you tomorrow — AVAX's oldest repeat is sitting at 2.3 days, halfway through before the time limit. If that short doesn't resolve by midweek, it gives up.
