six closes and a book stuffed with repeats
Morning, everyone — Sunday is a quiet trading day, which means you're really seeing what happened over the weekend while most of crypto slept. Six positions closed in the last 24 hours, all winners. That's the kind of Saturday/Sunday you don't mind waking to.
The six closes read like a pattern holding: JTO and NEAR both hit their targets in the time we gave them — +4.03% and +10.17% respectively. ICP the range short closed +3.03% right at target. Two ATOM dip buys exited on an EMA flip at +1.35% and +1.82% — both under their +3% targets but the rule triggered first. One autonomous NEAR that had been open 48 hours closed +1.07% on the same EMA flip. Nothing stopped out, nothing ran the time limit.
That left us room to stack. Hard. The book now carries 22 open positions, and if you've ever watched a trading desk load up on the same coin over a few days, you know why: the signals fire independently on their own clocks. SHIB has three shorts open now — they didn't pile up by accident, they piled up because the range setup kept meeting its conditions. Same story on AAVE with three, AVAX with two, ICP with two. A few coins like LDO and ADA have doubles too.
Here's what matters about repeats: when the same coin fires a second time within three days, the backtest data is clear — those trades actually won slightly more often than fresh entries. But there's one exception the desk watches for: if bitcoin jumped more than +2% between the two fires, the second short reliably lost money across every era tested. We don't take those. None of today's repeats hit that trap. Every repeat firing happened against a bitcoin move under +1%, which puts them in the favorable case — the backtest case where the second fire runs a touch better than a fresh one.
That doesn't mean they'll win. It means the edge the desk built holds even when the same coin gets two or three tries. You need that kind of confidence when you're holding 22 positions and half of them are stacked.
the market from here
Bitcoin is barely budging — +0.01% since yesterday's open, sitting at $82,925. Ethereum has drifted −0.18% to $2,500. On the daily chart, neither looks decisive. Bitcoin is trading right around today's open and yesterday's high, caught between the 50-day average at $80,568 (about 2.8% below) and the week's high of $86,740 (4.6% above). Ethereum is even tighter — nearly flat on the day, with resistance just 2.2% away at the 50-day average ($2,554) and support a single percent down at today's open level.
The week-to-date picture is where the damage shows. Bitcoin is down −4.14% since Monday's open, ethereum down −8.3%. That's the real story — we're rallying back into a bad week, not breaking out. Month-to-date bitcoin is still up +7.4%, which means the stumble is a pullback on a bigger up move, but the daily RSI on bitcoin at 51.6 reads neutral-to-tired, and ethereum's at 40.7, which is the reading you get when sellers have just finished work and both sides are catching their breath.
Volume yesterday was light — bitcoin volume at 19% of the 20-day average, ethereum at 38%. The order flow, though, leans interesting. Bitcoin saw buyers as the most aggressive party yesterday at +5.4% net aggression, ethereum even more so at +24.8% — the strongest buyer behavior ethereum has seen in the last ten days. AAVE, ADA, and FIL all saw their most buyer-heavy days of the recent stretch. But here's the catch: on light volume, aggression tilts more easily. It's the difference between a crowd surge and a small group moving decisively. You're seeing conviction, but not participation.
Futures positioning is interesting. Shorts are paying longs on both bitcoin and ethereum — the crowd leans short, and the side that's paying is usually the crowded side. Bitcoin open interest barely moved yesterday (+0.1%) but is down 4.9% over the week, which means the short stack is deflating. That's not squeeze risk yet, but it's the first frame of what squeeze risk looks like: fewer contracts, but the crowd still short. If buyers show up with volume, it could move fast.
The tape reads like this: a downtrend that rallied hard last week is resting now, both buyers and sellers waiting for conviction. Bitcoin has air to both the 50-day at $80,568 (support) and $86,740 (resistance). Ethereum is pinned tighter. The book is short-heavy in altcoins where the range trades live — those are the bets that the drift continues. If bitcoin decides to push higher with real volume, some of those shorts could get uncomfortable.
one thing worth keeping
The most valuable trade in this book isn't the one that wins the most — it's the one that exits early when it's supposed to. Watch what happened with ATOM: both dip buys closed on an EMA flip instead of running to their +3% targets. The system took +1.35% and +1.82% instead of waiting for +3%. That's discipline, not a loss. The rule that fires you in early on trend reversal is the same rule that saves you from bigger moves in the wrong direction. You need the rule even when it costs you a few points — because the times it protects you are worth more.

The book is heavy with shorts — 13 of the 22 open are short positions, mostly range trades aimed at +3%. The stacks on SHIB, AAVE, and AVAX are now three, three, and two respectively. All of them have repeats; all of them have bitcoin moves between fires under +1%, which means the backtest favors them. AVAX has the oldest repeat at 2.3 days open — it fired a second time Friday morning after opening Wednesday. ICP's repeat is also 2.3 days in. Neither has hit their targets yet. SHIB's newest repeat is less than a day old. The dip buys on FIL and the standalone ADA long are younger, under 1.5 days. If this tape stays rangebound, the shorts keep their math. If it breaks up on volume, they get tight fast.
