Morning — rough night to watch. NEAR and JTO are still piling up (now at four and three open positions each), but yesterday's closes told a different story: we took −9.47%, −10.35%, and −2.64% on three NEAR longs that timed out after 24 hours, and that math hurts.

One win: LDO hit its +3% target in 10 hours flat. JTO also closed for +0.75% at the time limit. Small wins against larger losses — that's the profile of dip-buying in chop, and this market has been chopping hard.

The FIL situation from yesterday played out as warned: bitcoin pumped +2.86% between two fires on the same coin, the backtest flagged it as the losing pattern, and the desk passed. The old short-range position stopped out on the expected bounce. Rules doing their job, even when the job is saying no.

### the market from here

Bitcoin is parked dead flat — +0.23% from today's open, barely moving on the week. Price sits just above the monthly open at $83,293, between the 50-day average ($81,103) below and a 52-week confluence zone above near $85,600\. RSI on the daily is 52.6, right at neutral; no stretched momentum in either direction, just a market waiting.

The real tension lives below. **$80,794 is the week's low, yesterday's low, and the 50-day average all stacked in one place — three reasons traders defend a line.** Bitcoin is only 3% above it, close enough that if sellers press, there's no room to breathe. The 30-day low sits 10% below at $74,892; that's the real escape hatch if support gives.

Ethereum is worse: it's down −6.87% on the month and off its 30-day high by 10.9%. Daily RSI is 43.4, drifting lower. The tape here has actual seller interest — AAVE and ADA both showed negative order flow yesterday, and $2,404 (the week's low) is only 3.8% below price. Ethereum hasn't held real conviction in either direction for a week.

Volume was normal — bitcoin 22% above the 20-day average, ethereum 8% below. The moves are orderly, not frantic. Bitcoin buyers were slight aggressors yesterday (1.8% of volume net buy pressure), ethereum was balanced. On the futures side, shorts are paying longs on both — the crowd is leaning short, and they're paying for the privilege, which means they're crowded. If this rallies, it could move fast.

The simplest read: the market is stuck between the 50-day average and last month's low, waiting to pick a direction. Volatility is normal. Positioning is not extreme. If I had to trade it, I'd wait for a break of one level or the other, not guess which one wins.

### one thing worth keeping

When three or four independent signals fire on the same coin within hours, that's not a stroke of genius — that's the rules agreeing with each other that something sharp just happened. The backtest loved repeats when bitcoin hadn't pumped between them. It hated repeats when it had. The FIL trade yesterday was a natural test, and it failed as predicted. Rules that bend when you want them to are rules that don't work. Rules that hold when they hurt are the only kind worth running.

#### all-time

| trades closed | win rate | avg trade | cumulative | tracking since |
| ------------- | -------- | --------- | ---------- | -------------- |
| 1017 | 70.2% | +0.86% | +874.7% | June 08, 2026 |

Last seven days: 160 closed, 127 wins, averaging +1.52% per trade. The win rate held even with yesterday's three losses — the range shorts are still doing the work. The book is patient; individual trades are not, and that's the whole design.

See you tomorrow — that oldest NEAR long has maybe 36 hours left before it times out, and JTO sits three-quarters through its window. Both still need a move, and the market hasn't given them one.
